Consensus layer

FOCIL remains Hegotá’s headliner and gives the fork a clear censorship-resistance objective. New candidates broaden the discussion into latency, networking efficiency, data reconstruction, and validator-client visibility.

Quick Slots explores shortening Ethereum’s fixed slot duration. Networking proposals investigate reusing PeerDAS structures for payload distribution and spreading reconstruction work across more nodes. These ideas may complement the roadmap, but each adds cross-client and operational complexity.

Testing & infrastructure

Turning Devnet 8 into a public testnet expands the audience from protocol implementers to validator operators, DVT systems, signers, explorers, and wallet infrastructure. The network needs predictable deposit flows and aligned Beacon APIs so those systems encounter one coherent builder workflow.

ACDT work continued to close specification, Hive, and client-readiness gaps before the public launch.

Economics & governance

A proposed tapered issuance burn entered evaluation without receiving an inclusion decision. The design would reduce protocol-issued validator rewards as the staking ratio rises.

The debate exposed two process concerns: whether an issuance change needs a longer independent analysis window, and whether its effects on solo validators differ materially from those on large operators with outside revenue.
